How Should I save My files to send
Saving and Creating Files for Print
We understand how difficult it can be to not only run a business but also
market it as well.
At PrintingPages.com, we try to make it as simple and smooth as possible.
We've listed some of the most important issues that you will face when
preparing your files for print.
Files - If you have
more than 4 files to upload it would be best to upload them as a single compressed
file by following these instructions. Take all the files for the job and
put them in a single folder whose name is your company name. Compress the
folder as a .zip file using Winzip or PK Zip if it's a Windows platform file.
Use Stuffit on the Macintosh platform and BinHex encode the file so that your
file will retain its resource fork and arrive happily with its icons intact. If
your files are extremely large you may want to send them by mail to:

File Preparation - 1.
EPS and TIFF images are the preferred file format. ALL IMAGES MUST BE SUPPLIED
IN CMYK FORMAT. Failure to do so will incur additional charges. 2.
Most importantly, all images used to print must be saved in 5.02 version of Photoshop
or higher with the layer flattened and that NO color management is being applied
when the file is being saved. All the images must be saved with a maximum quality
setting and a minimum of 300 Resolution / DPI @ 100%. Anything less will conflict
with our default RIP settings and produce an unwanted color and image quality
replication. 3. PDF, JPEG(maximum quality),
DCS compression type formats work well so long as you save the setting as requested
in step 2. If you intend to send us PDF's, create your document to include the
bleed area. Example: an 8.5" x 11" needs to be created as an 8.75"
x 11.25" page because when you save the document out of Acrobat Distiller
it will crop the image to the document setup size and you will lose the required
bleed area needed to produce the given page. Create your PDF with registration
marks turned off and send as a composite file. As always please provide a printout
of your work so we can eliminate any time delays.
4. Although Quark 4.1 is the most widely
used program by PrintingPages.com and it's clients, there are quite a
variety of programs you can use for print. Illustrator Pagemaker , Freehand,
Corel Draw and more. Any files submitted in Microsoft Publisher will incur
an additional charge for conversion. Please call for more info.
5.
Always remember to include all the fonts that you used to create the document
and only those fonts .Printer and Screen Fonts. 6.
Always remember to put images, logo's and peripherals in position in the document
and only those that are to be used.

of the time, we ship you slightly more than you ordered, free of charge. On occasion,
we ship slightly fewer pieces than you ordered. Printing industry trade standards
allow for underages of up to 5%. If you plan to send your print order to a mailing
list or need a guaranteed quantity, we recommend that you order 5% over the minimum
quantity you need. |
