| Print Guidelines |
Sending us your digital files, below are some guide lines you might want to check over before sending.
To submit a Catalog or Brochure:
Adobe Photoshop(R)
Resolution should be set to 300 Pixels Per Inch with the width and height set to the desired output size. (Image>Image Size)
If your catalog is a bleed (the ink prints to the edge of the card), add one eighth of an inch (.125") to each side that is to bleed. (One eighth of an inch, or .125",
on each side of the sheet will be trimmed off during the cutting process.
All files should be CMYK. RGB scans must be converted to CMYK in order to run on our press. (Image>Mode>CMYK)
Flatten all layers. (Layer>Flatten Image)
No LZW Compressed Tiff files
Save file as eps, psd, tif, pdf, or jpg
Adobe Illustrator(R)
Placed art images and logos (Freehand EPS, Illustrator EPS, or Photoshop files)
must be CYMK and follow digital guidelines for their own file type and application
orgin.
All text within files must be converted to outlines with the outline set to zero to eliminate the need for fonts. (Edit>Select All and go to Type>Create
Outlines)

Set black text to overprint. .
Save files as EPS, with placed images included (if your version permits).
Macromedia Freehand(R)
Placed art images and logos (Freehand EPS, Illustrator EPS, or Photoshop files)
must be CYMK and follow digital guidelines for their own file type and application
orgin.
All text within files must be converted to paths with the stroke set to zero to eliminate the need for fonts. (Edit>Select>All then go to Text>Convert
to Paths)

QuarkXpress(R)

All text within files must be converted to paths with the stroke set to zero to eliminate the need for fonts. Open the Quark EPS file into Adobe Illustrator to convert fonts. (Edit>Select All and go to Type>Create Outlines

If you set the bleeds in Quark, check in Illustrator to make sure they still
exist

PageMaker(R))

If you set the bleeds in PageMaker check in Illustrator to make sure they still
exist.
To save as EPS: File>Print. In PageMaker select the page to output. Select Option>Write Postscript to File. Select the "EPS" button. Set the "Download Font:" to "PostScript and TrueType". Press the "Save as" button, then name file and set destination by pressing the "OK" button. Press the "Save" button.
